MHA 185: Wing Hero Hawks.

The President of the Hero Association says it's a critical juncture now that it's been approximately 3 months since All Might retired, and thus they lack an icon of peace, which is why they're gathered here now to nominate one. While the president is talking, Hawks asks Endeavor secretly how it feels to be #1 and Endeavor just glares at him.

They turn the table over to the heroes for comments, and Ryukyu says she wants to withdraw from the list because she was unable to save someone and thus feels like someone who is more suited should be up here rather than her.

Kamui has made a team with Edgeshot and intends to continue working as usual, and another hero, Crust laments not being at Kamino that day. Milco warns anyone plotting evil that she's coming for 'em.

Hawks however is like "Does anyone really wanna hear talk about peace and justice?" He basically talks about how those who weren't around to make results and thus lost standings shouldn't be talking big.

Hawks is 22 years old, and broke into the charts on the top three, and at 18 was already in the top ten --heck at that age he had already started an office of his own. He's the fastest/youngest hero to break into the top ten --he's even known as "the guy who went too far too fast."

Hawks hands the mic to Endeavor who tries to think of a reason to inspire youth to seek strength, but in the end keeps it simple "Just watch me." After it's all said and done, Endeavor is pissed at Hawks who says he just wanted to stir things up and provide a bit of impact.

Hawks says he wasn't really an All Might fan or anything, but he was surprised to see that he retired when he did, and he does think that having a symbol of justice is important so they do need a new leader.

He proposes he and Endeavor team up as he's having issues with Nomu in his home area. Meanwhile someone says they have expectations for a new "High end" and a completely black creature with garbled speech says to leave things to it. Seems like it's an evolved Nomu.

Chapter 186: Endeavor & Hawks

Color spread: A fiery Endeavor.

We're introduced to Teruo Hazukashi (Who's last name means embarrassment) mad that he worked so hard in society just to lose his job. So he prepares to attack "society" with his power which is "Shame" which is to say the more embarrassed he gets the more powerful he becomes.

He says that "Superpower liberation" will thrive. Hawks takes him out casually on the side while asking Endeavor what his favorite food is.

Essentially without really needing to get directly involved, he's just stopping disasters and saving people using his feathers, all while conversing with Endeavor. In fact he's posing with people and talking to fans as they walk --everyone loves him.

A group of kids approach him---Endeavor for an autograph but he's really scaring them with his presence alone. He goes in for a handshake but the kid is so weirded out by him suddenly being nice that he runs away.

They get to Hawks' office and despite him not appearing at UA he knows a lot, right down to Shoto failing his provisional exam. He expresses delight at Tsukuyomi (Tokoyami) coming to his office though. Endeavor wants to cut the chit-chat and find out more about the modified Nomu.

They thought they got all of the Nomu when they arrested All for One, but apparently someone's still producing them. Hawks says it's only a rumor which annoys Endeavor.

He thought if he --Hawks wanted to team up that he had solid proof, but he doesn't, so Endeavor starts to leave.

Thing is Hawks says he's heard a lot of the same rumors around the country so he's been checking them all out and they have basically no relevance to each other, but he can't rule out that they're just rumors.

It seems as if information is intentionally being sent out --despite being vague that is slowly distrupting the peace.

It's related to the guy Hawks casually took out. It seems he read this autobiography written by a criminal a long time ago that's suddenly selling out now. With society in unease, he figured he'd bring in the number one hero to put people in high spirits, and he didn't want anything in particular.

Endeavor asks what exactly is Hawks' stance in this and Hawks just says he wants to have a good time --it's why his patrol is so laid back and haphazard.

It's best when nothing happens and heroes have free time to hang out, he says.

The modified Nomu from last chapter suddenly appears and flies toward them. And in sorta garbled speech asks who's the strongest in the room.

Endeavor hits it head on and says he'll show them the power of #1.

​Fuyuki (Todoroki’s older sister) “I will leave your changing clothes and clothes to warm you up here.”

Rei: “Thank you.”

Fuyuki (Todoroki’s older brother): “It seems like it will get colder from next week.”

Rei: “That’s great. I love it when it’s cold”

Natsuo: Right, we all get hot easily”

Rei: “You look very happy Natsu kun.”

Fuyuki: “Since he’s enrolled to university, he's stopped coming back. Apparently he got a girlfriend at his seminar!”

Natsuo: “Big sis!! I’m always letting you know, so it should be fine, right?!”

Natsuo: “M…mom you also seem to be happy! You! You look well!!”

Fuyuki: “Shouto has been sending letters to me. He’s saying that going to supplementary school for his temporary license is tough, but he’s doing his best to keep up with his friends.”

Natsuo: “Shouto sure is dedicated.”

Fuyuki: “In addition of living at the residence, he’s also going to the supplementary school, so he can’t come back like before anymore.“

Natsuo: “Shouldn’t you be allowed to have a phone by now?”

Fuyuki: “Right, but I wonder what the doctor will have to say…”

Natsuo: “Mom…That guy…he has officially become the number one hero.”

MHA 188: Dad is the Number 1 Hero.

While fighting the High spec, Endeavor notes five things it can do.

It can use jets from it's shoulders to take flight

It's flexible and it's arm can change into different things

The attacks from it's stretchy arms are incredibly powerful so it can strengthen it's muscles

Overall it has enough strength to shrug off iron bars

Regeneration.
And now a 6th: It can split off into different parts.

But the most fearsome thing is that it can think --it's actively keeping others from interrupting it's fight with Endeavor. The High spec has even figured out that there's a limit to how much Endeavor can use his flames.

Using his flames and raising his bodily temperature randomly will prove fatal to him.

"My body continues to be heavy with flames."

He says this as he thinks of his family and what it's done to them. The High spec demands that Endeavor fight him so it can get more power and become stronger. Endaeavor uses "Prominence Burn", commenting on his earlier words at the gathering. "Just look at me", he thinks to himself he didn't want to show this pathetic sight.

It burns away the High spec, but it's neck/head survives and it completely regenerates, grotesquely attacking Endeavor in the face leading him to have a third of his face ripped at and (possibly) losing an eye.

All of his family gets a bad premonition, as well as Eraserhead and All Might.

As the High spec complains about it all being so boring, Endeavor's thoughts are

Endeavor lying essentially unconscious thinks

"Become a hero who can be proud of themselves: A greater man than your father who is the number one hero." as Shoto, Momo, Denki, Izuku and Kirishima watch the TV in shock.

MHA 189: Why does he continue to make a stand?

Hawks is making short work of the other Nomu in town but they're apparently a lot of them. He's already captured 9 while rescuing people. Meanwhile the High End is caught on camera by the news groups and they talk about the scenery being the same as the nightmare three months before.

Endeavor suddenly gets up and attacks despite being heavily injured. Despite this the High End continues to stand. Natsuo and Fuyumi are watching and don't understand why Endeavor won't just back down and wait for reinforcements.

Well, Natsuo doesn't but Fuyumi points out that it's not that he doesn't understand (Natsuo) it's that he doesn't want to acknowlege Endeavor is someone who refuses to give up whether it be here or on the family.

There's a massive panic as people flee the city, but the one kid from before defends Endeavor that he's still fighting and living for their sakes.

The High End sees Endeavor rushing toward him and asks if he has the ability to recover, but Endeavor inwardly thinks it's all he can do to even move right now. He's using flames to propel his entire body and the pain from doing so to keep himself from fainting since otherwise he'd just collapse.

He's figured out that the High End can't take too much damage at his head, and juices up his fire to turn it into ash.

Hawks comes in and gives back up, he uses the feathers to propel Endeavor forward even faster making wings of pure flame.
